Cold Light of Day (TIN, #1.5) [Wolf & Sean] by Charlie Cochet

What a PLEASURE this short novella was! I can't believe I have to wait MORE not only for the next installment but the one after where we get Wolf and Sean's FULL story. ~sigh~ Surprising enough I think this book could be read as a stand alone, maybe it's going to be a way to get into the series, well, at least TIN.

We've met Wolf - aka Alfie Colbourn (Hudson's brother) enough times in the past. He tortured Dex and though he hasn't exactly redeemed himself he also helped his brother (and others) since then. He used to be a TIN operative before his last mission - 16 years ago - in which he and his best friend and partner were betrayed by one of their own resulting in Tucker's death. Since then he has been a free lance and he is VERY good at his job.

After losing Tucker (real name Benji) he promises his younger brother - Sean - if he ever needed any help to contact him. They hadn't really stayed in touch and Sean doesn't know what his brother TRULY did for a living but there is still a connection between the two. Occasionally Sean would call Wolf and speak with him. Remembering his brother through him.

Gone But Not Forgotten (TIN, #1) [Dex & Sloane] by Charlie Cochet

This has been GREAT! I missed this series so much! I can't believe it's been TWO YEARS since I last read the last one. Funny thing is, I stared reading in the morning and as soon as Austen Payne - now the guys' handler (!) - explains their mission I stopped reading. I just couldn't. It was too much. I wasn't prepared. After launch I had a talk with myself about how ridiculous I am - went back in and finished it in one sitting.

We are four years after the last installments. The guys have been training for a year and working the field for another three. In a way nothing changed - them working together, being the beautiful couple that they are, and yet it IS different. Firstly them not being a real part of the Destructive Delta Team (with Ash Keeler being their new leader) and having two new team members - Keane and Rowan (both Therian, like all* TIN operatives) as well as some help from Sebastian "Seb" Hobbs (who was already mixed up with TIN business before) and a little from Ash (as Sloane's best friend and someone who worked with him for years and knowns him like only Dex does).

The job Austen and Sonya Sparks (who stayed their boss with a "slight" change in title) have in mind for Dex and Sloane is not just 'dangerous', with that they can handle, it's also quite personal. There's a new villain in town - Howard Vaughan - attempting to manipulate the (new found) Melanoe virus together with the Eppione.8 vaccine in order to make "improved" humans (without them shifting into a Therian).

Wicked Bite (Night Rebel #2) by Jeaniene Frost

A review is such a personal thing, and not only that, it depends on who you are or how you are at the moment. I've been a HUGE Paranormal fan, especially Vampires. I couldn't recommend enough the previous spin-off in the Night Huntress World - Night Prince of Vlad Dracul, and though I've felt the same reading the first installment of this spin-of of the long awaited love story between Ian and Veritas, more than a year after finishing the first book embarrassly enough I remembered almost ZERO of what happened. It was good of Jeaniene to remind us or else I would have had to abandon this book. In a way I was in the same place Ian was of not remembering the last month of his life so THAT was actually good.

Where was I going with how I started this review? To the current point in time I'm a bit over Veritas. I don't like characters or people who behave like she does. Yeah, she is one touch chick (to be mild here), she has amazing powers, and yet, her high-handedness is SO annoying. She looks down on Ian, leaves him behind to do all the hard work so she can "save" him. The trouble, the danger, the responsibility (she took over herself) and it was stupid. So stupid in fact, that 50% (!) into the book she admits that to him. I'll translate how I saw it - The first half of the book was redundant. Remembering Cat and how she was like (in the original Night Huntress series) - basically the same, and I got that, when they finally meet and have a long conversation. Don't get me wrong I love me a good strong female character, one who can wipe out demons like no one's business, but it's not fun when she looks down on EVERYONE and has such a warped perception of herself.

Shades of Wicked (Night Rebel #1) by Jeaniene Frost

It started in the summer of 2014 (at least for me..) when I found Cat and Bones. It used to be my absolute favorite UF series, yet then came the spin-off "Night Prince" of Vlad and I fell in love even harder. Putting Ian against Vlad isn't a fair game.. So I'll just say I LOVED this book. It was AWESOME. Can't believe how much I missed all these characters.. Jeaniene made us wait a whole year and a half since the last installment of Vlad and Leila's story and though it was a long wait it was totally worth it!

I'll just say that if you haven't read any of the "Night Huntress" books YOU TOTALLY SHOULD, but actually it's not a must.. you'll just get to know many of the characters in advance.. and there are naturally a few spoilers.. up to you. Chronologically speaking this book continues right after the end of "Into the Fire", the 4th and last installment of the "Night Prince" where Ian made a bargain he shouldn't have and now it seems he has very short time to live before his soul goes to the Demon he bargained it for - Dagon yet he didn't see Veritas coming.. NOT AT ALL.

Tried & True (THIRDS #10) [Dex & Sloane] by Charlie Cochet

As usual, a great read. I would have been crashed if this was actually the last I heard of Dex and Sloane but lucky for us, their story will continue in the new spin off series - TIN. CAN'T WAIT! There is something so terribly beautiful about this series, it combines action, with huge beasts (our Therians or usually called - shape-shifters) but also high-tech and fire arms with a larger than life romance you swoon over. It's no wonder THIRDS is my absolute favorite PNR/UF series. It simply has EVERYTHING I could wish for.

Gummy Bears & Grenades (THIRDS #9.5) [Dex & Sloane] by Charlie Cochet

It's always nice to come back to the THIRDS world, get my fix of my favorite PNR characters and get a taste for how much I want to read MORE about them. Dex manages to try and hitch 3 (!) couples together and I can't wait to get all of their stories! As usual Dex gets into trouble and almost breaks Sloane's heart with how close he brushes with danger even in the most casual day.

Darkest Hour Before Dawn (THIRDS #9) [Sebastian & Hudson] by Charlie Cochet

What can I say, I simply LOVE this series. Seb and Hudson's story was beautiful but it was mostly heart breaking. We've known about these two for a while now, and getting to hear Hudson's side of things made me feel so sorry for both of them. 7 years being apart yet never truly being able to put their feelings aside. That's what it means to be marked.

Touch the Dark (Cassandra Palmer #1) by Karen Chance

This book is impossible to read. After 24% I realized that very little actually happened and I'm totally and absolutely LOST with all the details of the past and present BESIDES the actual plot. I was bored out of my mind when I wasn't confused or lost. The little that DID interest me just didn't move along. There was WAY too much information about the world and mainly about Cassie's past and yet when something happened it was full of action and gory. Not that I mind about that, my issue was the action was SO confusing I had to re-read most of it and still not know who the author was referring to. I wanted this book (and series) to be awesome but sadly I'm letting this one go right here.

The Queen's Witch (Cassandra Palmer 0.6) [Gillian & Kit] by Karen Chance

This short novella is a sequel to "The Gauntlet", a few days after Gillian and Kit goes their own ways they meet again and Kit explains to Gillian what he needs her for and the importance in that.

The Gauntlet (Cassandra Palmer 0.5) [Gillian & Kit] by Karen Chance

I enjoyed this short interlude into Cassandra Palmer's world though neither of the MCs in this one is in fact Cassandra. This short novella is told from the alternative POVs of Gillian Urswick - a witch, captured by the black circle who wish to eliminate the witches in general and Chris "Kit" Marlowe who is a vampire tasked with finding someone to help him uncover a certain plot against the queen. Gillian will certainly do but first he has to make her see she can trust him and then they have to find a way to escape which very quickly becomes almost impossible.

Into the Fire (Night Prince #4) by Jeaniene Frost

What a JOY getting the final installment in the Night Prince series. I waited for this one SO LONG, and it was SO worth the wait! Not only that, the ending brought with it an announcement I'm also pumped about (but I'll get to that later ;)). I grabbed this book Saturday afternoon, and put my kindle aside only when I finished. ~sigh~ how I missed Vlad and Leila, and also Jeaniene writing. Getting sucked into the Night Huntress World again was everything I hoped it would be. I actually liked we didn't get more of Cat and Bones, but we DID get a lot of Ian and Mencheres.

The plot continues where we left off, frankly I didn't really remember where THAT was, but Jeaniene did a good job of reminding us the main things. First the fact that Leila is connected to Mircea - a necromancer who is also Vlad's stepson and nephew. His wife at the time, betrayed Vlad with his brother Radu. Mircea's magic backfired when he tried to harm Leila resulting in the bond they now share - if he is harmed, she feels it on her skin, and vice versa. Mostly meaning if someone killed Mircea - Leila would die, which also means no matter how much Vlad wants to kill Mircea, he can't do that before he breaks the spell.

Thick & Thin (THIRDS #8) [Dex & Sloane] by Charlie Cochet

What can I say, anything and everything about this series is simply perfection. Even if this time around we only got a short novella of "what's to expect next". Though it was short we DID get not only the romance but the action as well only in a small dose.

I"m not going to say a lot because I don't want to spoiler. I WILL say both Dex and Sloane have a LOT to say to their family and teammates. Dex's "physical situation", Sloane's marriage proposal and of course, their decision to become TIN operatives. All of these things happened near the ending of the previous book but weren't addressed properly with anyone besides themselves. The most important part in this (for the team) is what's going to happen now, will Dex and Sloane leave the team / THIRDS? will they stay together in a different capacity? Let's just say I loved the changes that were made. Especially since the series as it is, is nearing the end (two more books before the spin off). It all just made perfect sense.

Smoke & Mirrors (THIRDS #7) [Dex & Sloane] by Charlie Cochet

~sigh~ this book.. I really don't know where to start.. I think it's my favorite though it's really hard to choose (and yeah ALL the other ones in the series also got 5 stars rating). I LOVE Dex and Sloane, I really enjoyed getting Ash and Cael and Calvin and Ethan's stories but Sloane and Dex are epic in their own right. This book shows us exactly that while revealing A LOT of secrets from the past, as well as what's been going on behind their backs with TIN (a sort of CIA agency with Therian agents) and a little about the villains running the show from back when Ash and Sloane were kids, before they even turned. This book was not only action packed it was also SO DAMN EMOTIONAL, because of the consequences of the action, but also because Sloane and Dex have to deal with their inner demons and it's not easily done.

Catch a Tiger by the Tail (THIRDS #6) [Calvin & Ethan] by Charlie Cochet

Clearly, Charlie can do no wrong. This was another excellent installment in the series, focusing on the long awaited love story of Calvin and Ethan. A little bit like Ash and Cael - they just needed a little shove before they could finally form a romantic relationship. Everything changed for Calvin a while ago when he realized he wanted more from Ethan but he only made the first move after the Youth Center exploded with Ethan inside. That's when they shared their first kiss. Yet though Ethan returned the kiss, for him, making a change in their relationship is the most scary thing he can think of. Calvin is the most important person in his life. If things doesn't work out, what would happen to their friendship? That's something he doesn't want to risk and yet when it's obvious Calvin wants more and is constantly hurt by Ethan for not wanting him back he is forced to consider and re-consider his decisions.

Against the Grain (THIRDS #5) [Cael & Ash] by Charlie Cochet

I LOVED this one SO MUCH. Really enjoyed getting Cael and Ash's love story. It was different in pace than Dex and Sloane's relationship because they both already loved and wanted each other, it was just waiting for Ash to accept the fact he is gay, he loves Cael and is willing to put his past aside so he could be with him. I think it was mostly about getting "hit on the head" figuratively speaking so he could make the final step towards Cael.

When I've heard this is Cael and Ash's book I thought it would somehow be more about THEM, but actually it was very similar to the other books in the series, Dex and Sloane have a huge part in it as well, not only because Ash and Sloane are best friends and Dex and Cael are brothers.. The book is mostly told from their POVs with a little bit of Austen thrown in the mix. He's starting to have a bigger role in the series which I really like! He's such an interesting character!

Rise & Fall (THIRDS #4) [Dex & Sloane] by Charlie Cochet

This series is turning out to be my absolute favorite PNR / UF series. From the first till now, each book is a solid 5 star review. These books have it all, they are humorous! I find myself Laughing Out Loud A LOT and yet they are also emotional and heart warming (at times heart breaking), besides that there is also action and a beautiful world containing humans and shifters. Each one I started I simply couldn't put down. I read most of these, including this one, in two days. One sitting couldn't be less than a few hours. This one I finished on 3 AM! was dead tired but couldn't for the life of me go to sleep without getting the whole story.

The previous book ended in a sort of cliffhanger which I generally dislike but I couldn't fault Charlie, it was obvious that though Sloane was badly hurt he will survive (there are at least 3 more books planned for him and Dex not to mention another spin off series centered about these two). This book was suppose to be all about Dex taking care of Sloane in his vulnerable state, and yet we got something different, Dex almost avoiding Sloane (even though he is living in his house recovering!) so he could catch the guy who hurt Sloane and is threatening the other members of Destructive Delta who are basically his family (asides from Cael who is ACTUALLY his brother..).

Rack & Ruin (THIRDS #3) [Dex & Sloane] by Charlie Cochet

Another great installment! I'm loving this series SO MUCH! I read this one literally in one day, even one sitting. Can't get enough of the Destructive Delta team! Like the other books in the series, this book was fluid, funny, emotional, full of action, it simply has it all!

Dex and Sloane are a couple there is no doubt about it, yet Sloane IS somehow sill holding back which is why when Dex accidentally says the "L" word it makes Sloane take a hike. The one is there for both of them, telling them to have faith in one another is no other than Ash!

Blood & Thunder (THIRDS #2) [Sloane & Dex] by Charlie Cochet

Great novel! Really enjoyed it! One of those books you are reluctant to put down. I really enjoyed the previous one, and this one was just as good. I loved getting to know the MC as well as the rest of the Destructive Delta team even better and now it's even more than just wanting Dex and Sloane to find their HEA, there are more I want to see getting there. This had more action in my mind but the real resolve only comes in the last few chapters in which we understand the global threat to THIRDS as well as a MAJOR reveal of Sloane's secrets.

Hell & High Water (THIRDS #1) [Dex & Sloane] by Charlie Cochet

This book was SO AWESOME! It's been really a while since I read something resembling this series, or maybe I simply haven't and that's why I'm so excited! In a way it reminds me of "Cut & Run" by Abigail Roux because being a part of the THIRDS organization could resemble being apart of the FBI, being partners "against their will", both having the kind of sense of humor it's just FUN to read and see how the inuendoes affect the relationship and make it grow and yet that's where the resemblance ends.. First because HELLO this is a Paranormal Romance series, there are Therians, which is another word for "shifter". THIRDS means Therian-Human Intelligence Recon Defense Squadron, a special agency combining Therians and humans as partners dealing with the kind of crime the "regular" police simply can't handle.

Bound By Flames (Night Prince, #3) by Jeaniene Frost

Well, I have been waiting for this installment for a longgggg time, practically from the second I finished the previous one. Vlad Dracul, especially Jeaniene's Vlad Dracul is my absolute FAVORITE paranormal character, naturally most loved vampire, not to mention he isn't just ANY vampire he is THE vampire - Vlad Tepesh, the impaler! YUM on so many levels I can't even, no, there are NO WORDS!
