I"m not going to say a lot because I don't want to spoiler. I WILL say both Dex and Sloane have a LOT to say to their family and teammates. Dex's "physical situation", Sloane's marriage proposal and of course, their decision to become TIN operatives. All of these things happened near the ending of the previous book but weren't addressed properly with anyone besides themselves. The most important part in this (for the team) is what's going to happen now, will Dex and Sloane leave the team / THIRDS? will they stay together in a different capacity? Let's just say I loved the changes that were made. Especially since the series as it is, is nearing the end (two more books before the spin off). It all just made perfect sense.
The action part of the story was short but it had a very important ingredient for the next novel of Seb and Hudson. I really can't wait to get their story, there were a LOT of unresolved business between them as we've seen in the last few installments. Also I wonder if a remark Dex threw on Hobbs and the possibilities it offers to his family will be addressed, or it's just a general promise for the future.
I read the first 7 installments on November (2016) and each was as amazing as the other. I expected no less (and got everything I wanted), but I was wondering how I would feel about the story, not remembering all the nitty-gritty details. Charlie did an excellent job of reminding us the important details and so I felt as though I just finished the previous one and SO ready to get into this one. It's something I have a problem with in many (long) series. Most of the time it's a whole year later in which I forget too many small details. I'm happy this one isn't like that.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! At this point I don't think it's possible to read from the middle, so start at the beginning, you'll thank me later ;)

ABOUT THIS SERIES
THIRDS is my absolute favorite Paranormal MM Romance / Urban Fantasy series. It's the first I've read by Charlie Cochet (and wasn't the last!). I absolutely ADORE the series, each book was simply superb! There's a lot of action in the books, but there is also A LOT of laugh out loud moments as well as heartfelt ones between the MCs. I couldn't have asked for more. This series has it all!
The world building is AWESOME, it's explained right in the beginning of the series - A biological weapon used in the Vietnam war caused a mutations that made the Therians, a new species of half man - half animal. What we usually call "shape shifters". The world is struggling to deal with this new species, a lot of prejudice, a need to register and somehow contain the new members of society. The THIRDS - Therian-Human Intelligence, Recon, Defense Squadron is formed to help the "human police" deal with Therian threats.
The series focuses on the "Destructive Delta" team, mostly the leader - Sloane a Jaguar Therian and his new human partner Dex (with 3 novels focus on other couples).
