Kindle - Nothing can stop true love

The saga continues but at least comes to an end.. Like my romance novels, we're FINALLY at the HEA phase ;)

Somewhere in the middle of November I wrote a post about my experience with the Boox Nova 3 Color and mentioned I already ordered the new Kindle Signature edition. As much as I was excited it wasn't available on Amazon (at least when I searched) so I decided to order from another (registered) vendor.

I waited for a WHOLE month before the order was cancelled from their end because they simply couldn't deliver the product. With tail between my legs I returned to the mighty Amazon. This time there WAS stock but not for International orders. I paid quite a bit extra and ordered it with an international shipping company which should have been faster but ended taking almost three weeks..

Though I always knew reading on my Kindle is something I adored, I don't think I realized just HOW attached I truly am to this device and the fact I simply CANNOT read without it. It's not the same. Even when I enjoy a book, it's still a struggle reading on my phone in every aspect (and any other LCD screen device is actually WORSE).

When I "lost" my kindle... A failed Voyage from Kindle (My review of the Boox Nova 3 Color)

At the beginning of October I "lost" my Kindle Voyage. I feel a bit better saying "I lost it" instead of the truth - it was stolen from me with a bunch of other stuff. It was the thing I had the hardest time replacing - technically and mentally. It felt like losing a bit of myself - my comfort - when I needed it most.

I was actually contemplating replacing it, not for any particular reason.. It was working fine after 4 years of constant use. It wasn't a "done deal" but it became one when my precious was no longer here...

I've researched the current devices - on Amazon, Kobo and even ventured into the new color devices. After reading / watching quite a bit of reviews I decided on the Boox Nova 3 Color

The reviews were raving, mostly about the innovation but the performance as well. Yeah, the (color) hardware wasn't the best, but the software compensates. So I ordered it and waited, and waited, and waited. It took a whole month but it finally got here! I only managed to read 2 books in between as I simply couldn't make myself read on my phone (or any other LCD screen). But when the device finally arrived I was more than disappointed.

This is NO kindle

An End & A New Beginning

I've been away from this blog and generally from reading the past month. I don't even know what was happening before last week.. it's all a blur at the moment...

Last week, on the 1st of September I lost my precious Eric. He was 7 years old Blue Great Dane, happy, full of life and energy and yet, something deep inside of him wasn't okay and so in minutes he was gone and I was left broken hearted.

Eric was born at my house, in my arms. I used to call him - "my happiness", and that he was. We had an amazing connection. We understood each other, we accepted one another with our flaws and difficulties. Losing him was so hard.

The previous Thursday I had him cremated and now he sits peacefully in my room and it almost helps, feeling as if he is physically here somehow.
