Kindle - Nothing can stop true love

The saga continues but at least comes to an end.. Like my romance novels, we're FINALLY at the HEA phase ;)

Somewhere in the middle of November I wrote a post about my experience with the Boox Nova 3 Color and mentioned I already ordered the new Kindle Signature edition. As much as I was excited it wasn't available on Amazon (at least when I searched) so I decided to order from another (registered) vendor.

I waited for a WHOLE month before the order was cancelled from their end because they simply couldn't deliver the product. With tail between my legs I returned to the mighty Amazon. This time there WAS stock but not for International orders. I paid quite a bit extra and ordered it with an international shipping company which should have been faster but ended taking almost three weeks..

Though I always knew reading on my Kindle is something I adored, I don't think I realized just HOW attached I truly am to this device and the fact I simply CANNOT read without it. It's not the same. Even when I enjoy a book, it's still a struggle reading on my phone in every aspect (and any other LCD screen device is actually WORSE).

I understand even better now why people complain they can't read more than 2-3 pages digitally. I might have said it to people before but I didn't have the experience of HOW horrible it is. I, a person who can read hundreds of pages a day (time allowing), can barely hold myself for a few MINUTES before I feel my eyes getting tired. I thought it was about finding a comfortable spot, it isn't. Reading and "playing around" on your phone is simply NOT THE SAME.

In the end it just that when you are used to something as PERFECT as Amazon's Kindle it's obvious there is NOTHING like it and I've experienced that for first hand from my first Kindle a little over 10 years ago. I have NEVER read as much as I did these past 10 years and if I did it had to do with my life not my will or endless books on my reading list.

Here's to a better 2022 with my new Kindle.

  1. I'm still using my 4 year old kindle paperwhite, and will likely order another one when this dies. I read your experience with the other e-reader, and it looks like Kindle has captured the market for a reason!

    1. That's for sure! They know what they're doing. If it would have been Voyage VS Signature, I'm not sure it would have been worth the change. Probably not. I don't care that much for the new charging method. The warm light IS nice. I think it's faster, maybe?
