This short read was actually a bit "difficult". My heart hurt for both guys. They reached a sort of "impasse". It's either Bohdan acknowledges his and Kyle's relationship or it's over. Though Kyle doesn't SAY it, it's in his mind even though his heart is breaking just thinking about it. They ARE happy together, it's just it's only when they are basically alone..
Kyle Christopher loves his boyfriend. He truly does. He also supports him and his ambitions. It's going to be his third time in the Olympics and Kyle applauds him for the dedication and hard work he puts into it. His only issue is, he keeps their relationship a secret. They live together, even share a dog.. Yet when the cameras are on, and/or the reporter is in front of him it's always ends up the same - No he isn't in a relationship / No he isn't gay. It's getting harder and harder for Kyle to accept that.
Olympian swimmer Bohdan Petrov loves Kyle with all of his heart, and while he has no problem swimming with thousands watching him, being in front of cameras and even in a "regular" interview he just freezes over. Top that with them asking him about his relationship status and sexual orientation and he can barely open his mouth to speak. He knows it breaks Kyle's heart every time he fails to acknowledge him, but with his homophobic father and the way being gay was treated while he was growing up as a professional swimmer - admitting to being gay isn't easy. Their close circle knows about them and for him it's sort of enough.. But he knows it's not enough for Kyle.
Now that the Olympics is on he screws up again but he realizes if he wants to keep Kyle he needs to do better (or else)...
I really enjoyed this one even if it was fairly short. My only issue was - for me, there was too much sexual interaction for how short it was. I think it would have been better to get more of THEM or their life together and less of just packing the heat. Yet I still recommend it. So short yet so emotional with a beautiful resolution.
