Mr. Winterbourne's Christmas (Winterbourne, #2) [Lysander & Adam] by Joanna Chambers

Such a SWEET novella. I enjoyed seeing Lysander and Adam again, this time as a couple though they are both unsure of the seriousness of their relationship. Yet when they are both invited to Lysander's home estate it's the perfect time to not only ponder their current situation but to think of the future.

When Lysander's sister was married to Adam's brother it was no secret it was all about the money, Adam's money.. His brother Simon got the "title" while Lysander's family got the money his father needed after gambling away his own.. They had an agreement but as Lysander and Adam see the way the estate hasn't been renovated they realize there's another reason Adam was invited.. Lysander's father was obnoxious. He wanted everyone to do his bidding so he can keep on being irresponsible with his money and be paid off by other men. Adam saw through him but what he didn't predict was Lysander's reaction.

In Adam's estate, Lysander is the grounds manager. They both enjoy the proximity and the ability to be a couple even if just between the estates' confines. They both need more reassurance though each knows he loves the other. When Lysander is offered the one thing he wished for Lysander more than realizes it's nothing compared to what he has with Adam. Adam on his side, such a sweet considerate man, would do anything for his love.

There is also a mix of enjoyable characters spending Christmas at the estate with them and a promise of at least two if not three new couples. Neither is "conventional" which makes this story even better. Really enjoyed it. Short yet packed quite a lot in it. Lysander and Adam were living together for a whole year so there wasn't any "relationship buildup" but we do get to see them becoming what they wished for for so long which was beautiful and endearing to read.

Winterbourne is an Historical Romance series by Joanna Chambers. Though the name of the series implies it's all about Lysander Winterbourne it's not really though both Lysander and Adam appear in all novellas. That's the other things, sadly, all four stories are rather short though the 4th is the longest which makes me hope Joanna will write more of them and make them full length as I ADORES all of them.

Being high born surely helps if you are a certain sexual preference while living in the beginning of the  19th centaury. It doesn't mean it's easy though especially someone you can trust  and find a way to share your life with.

My real interest in reading Historical novels (especially of this age) started with Joanna's Enlightenment series an as it's name it brought something new and wonderful into my life and now every new publish by her gets an automatic 1-click buy.
