This book was a nice surprise. I really enjoyed it and the fact it was somehow action packed with two seemingly "Alpha guys" yet sweet and endearing (with very light elements of BDSM). Also was happy to realize the guys' boss is no other than Sam Kage from "A Matter of Time" which was an absolute FAVORITE series of mine.
Deputy US Marshal Miro Jones and likewise Deputy US Marshal and a former Green Beret Ian Doyle have been partners and best friends for the past three years, yet it haven't been easy on our sole POV - Miro who have also been somewhat not that secretly in love with Ian. It seems the only person not realizing Miro's feelings towards Ian was, well, Ian!
Miro is scared of showing Ian this side of him, but in the first novel in a series focused on the two of them, they find themselves both admitting to what they have been CRAVING from one another. It might have been a sort of surprise for both of them to realize each other's feelings but after all they have known each other VERY well for a few years now so progressing from partners and best friends to a full blown relationship was somewhat easy even if not bulletproof.
There is A LOT going on in this book. Frankly, too many characters were introduced, not only the other guys in their department but also all the people they had to save/escort as a part of their job. I was a bit lost at times but just kept on going, waiting to see these two oblivious guys find a way to finally be able to express how they feel toward one another. As with those kinds of books by Mary, NO ONE escapes unharmed, and it's mostly Miro getting hit, broken and shot at every street corner. Poor guy.. It makes Ian BESIDES HIMSELF with anger, possessiveness and fear for the only man he truly loves and feels like himself around. Miro describes him in a way like a stray cat you keep on feeding even when you get scratched and bitten. Keeping up with the grumbly Ian is SO worth it in the end.
It was a great start to a series! Unlike what we had to go through with Jory and Sam, these two finish this book as a real couple which was actually the most endearing thing! Can't wait to start the next ones in the series, I can TOTALLY see them getting in trouble in every corner yet at the end of the day sleep locked in a strangling embrace together.

ABOUT THIS SERIES
Marshals in a Romantic Suspense (MM) series by Mary Calmes. The series contains 3 full length novels and one novella, all focusing around Deputy US Marshal Miro Jones and his partner and former Green Beret Ian Doyle.
They've gone from strangers to professional coworkers to devoted
teammates and best friends but now it's time for the next step...
The beautiful story of Miro and Ian takes a full 4 novels but as Mary promised, we'll get more characters from the books hitched together just no more of our MC (To be published 2020)
If you're read and miss Jory and Sam from "A Matter of Time" you'll be glad to discover Sam Kage to be Miro and Ian's boss with the slightest appearances of the rest of the family. There are a bit more of cross-overs from other books and series (like "The Vault") as Mary loves doing.
I LOVED this series. Loved the way their relationship progressed throughout the books. Their dynamics, including the dominance part which I really enjoyed went both ways. Miro and Ian are perfect for one another but two stubborn guys like these two stuck together can't be easy especially with everything they have to deal with in their daily life (like Miro being chased by a serial killer who is half in love with him and / or calling him his true friend and half plotting to torture and kill him. Complicated! Yet Mary did such a wonderful job with these two. Making them go through fiery loops only to give us the best possible closure.
Books:
1. All kinds of Tied Down (Published 3 July 2014) ★★★★½
2. Fit To Be Tied (Published 18 September 2015) ★★★★½
3. Tied Up in Knots (Published 16 September 2016) ★★★★
3.5. Together Tied (Published 14 February 2018) ★★★
4. Twisted & Tied (Published 13 March 2018) ★★★★★
5. Eli’s ??? Callahan (To Be Published 2020)
6. Redeker & ??? (To Be Published 2020)
