Catching Irish (The Summerhaven Trio #4) [Finian & Tate] by Katy Regnery

This short novella is a bitter-sweet farewell to a wonderful endearing series I SO enjoyed. It was short yet I felt we got a whole story even if a bit condensed. Both Tate and Finian deserved to find their HEA and though they might seem an unlikely couple - because neither WANT a relationship and also because of distance (she from Florida, he from Ireland) and yet when karma throws both of their chairs to the floor as they stood up in Rory and Brittany's wedding it seems like their struggle against a relationship is quite frankly futile..

Finian Kelley is the Haven triplets' cousin. He has come for the summer to help out in the Summerhaven Resort, especially nearing Rory's wedding to Britt. After a bad relationship and a bad breakup he is mostly looking for a good time and Tate Jennings, coming to one of her closest friends - Britt's - wedding, is exactly the kind of fun he had in mind. Yet he is surprised at how much Tate's idea of a good time is boxed into a strict "no strings attached". She is HOT to fool around with but she is COLD as ice when the deed is done. Maybe that's what draws him even closer to her, trying to figure out who she is and finding staying away from her is simply out of the question even or maybe a bit BECAUSE she keeps pushing him away.

At first I had a hard time with Tate. She was TOO cold, or rather she wasn't JUST cold, she was also mean to Fin. I felt sorry for him.. He was trying his best, trying to get her and be what she wanted and she was frozen. Yet somehow even she is surprised with how he keeps doing and being exactly the kind of man she needs and as her story is revealed I could totally GET her reasons. She needed time to digest what's going on between them, especially since time is running short till she is leaving home, and even when a second chance brings them together again, it still doesn't change their life situation..

I could say more but I simply won't. This novel is short and I really want you to enjoy the ride, including the snippets of our couples from the previous novels. I also LOVED that once all was said and done, Katy offered us a real treat in a small sweet letter (Don't miss it at the very end!).

Fin and Tate's story was so different that the previous ones. I loved how even though it was short it DID deal with real issues and though we are somewhat left with a HFN, I could clearly see how both could and would work to have each other in their lives. If you haven't read this series and you enjoy sweet romances this would be a great time to start from the beginning. I'm not even sure which one was my favorite (maybe the second of Tierney?), each was heartwarming yet also realistic with real life difficulties. Farewell Summerhaven...

I kindly received this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

  ABOUT THIS SERIES

The Summerhaven Trio is a Contemporary Romance (MF) series by Katy Regnery. It tells the romantic tale of the triplet - Rory, Ian and Tierney Haven. The three grew up in the exclusive Summerhaven camp (now turned into a convention center). Though they are united as siblings and a part of a triplet they are still single and looking to the love of their lives.

Before the series was said and done, Katy surprised us with a final short novella of Finian - The triplet's cousin not only coming to Rory's wedding, but also finding his HEA as well. As was the previous ones - it was also a treat.

All books in this series were sweet and endearing but it doesn't mean we they don't deal with real life issues which was heart breaking and great at the same time ;) I think the second was my favorite maybe because identifying with Tierney was too easy for me :)
