While I loved the previous installments in the series, this one felt a bit rushed and even in a way "unfinished". It was fun getting almost all the characters from the previous installments in some capacity I just wanted to see more relationship buildup from Essien and Roark. It's not that I didn't like this one, it's more that I wished we got a more solid story and for that we needed more than 90 pages.
Essien Dodd and Roark Hammond have been circling each other for the past six month even since Essien moved into town with his teenage daughter. Roark wants the sexy firefighter but he can't make himself hurt Essien with his current situation. Everyone loves the cool Pediatrician including Essien but Roark seems to always disappear on him when they are close by.
Yet another endearing story. I expected something else from both Lazlo and Britton though I'm not sure even what. Maybe because I didn't know what they have been through together and the depth of it before I started.
We've met both MCs in the previous installments in the series. Lazlo Maguire is a laid back guy, well liked in the small town of Mangrove even if everyone knows that half the year he lives here selling his craft and half the year he is a high class rent-boy in the big city. Though most of no one knows his story (except for his 2 best friends) no one resents him or look down on him. Mangrove is truly his home, but up until now he had no reason to stop renting himself out.
I'm loving this series! These are such comfort reads! Again with the friends to lovers. I admit I love this turf. It's one of my favorites. It's the best kind of love if you ask me. Someone you first consider your best friend before the next (sexual) step is made. it's the same here with Hutch and Mike though what is different is Mike suppose to be straight..
We've met Hutch Crowley in the previous installments. It's fun getting to know the people in this town and see them find their HEA and after having a revisit in the next installment. It makes sense reading these in order but truthfully they all can be read as stand-alones. Hutch runs the grocery store in the small town of Mangrove and building a recreational center. It's easy for him to focus on the new project now that he trusts his best friend Mike to run the grocery store.
Another sweet and endearing story. This one, like the previous one was friends to lovers though everything else about it was different. Kelly and Coz served in the military together, after saving Coz's life, Kelly returns to the small town of Mangrove where Coz lives to make a life of his own by his best friend and his family which has become his own.
We've met Kelly Seaton for just a minute in the previous installment, he is the new gardener in Takeo and Dwyer B&B and though Takeo and Dwyer have a small part to play in this one, you don't have to read it to enjoy this one. Kelly loves Coz but he also loves his new family - Coz' mother and bigger sister. They have become his only family and he cherishes them. Though it's obvious to him he loves Coz he can't see himself making the first move when he can lose everyone he loves if it falls apart.
This short novella was SO SWEET and endearing! I LOVED it! I loved the fact that even though the romantic part of this novella was right at the very end I could totally accept that because they were already close friends and we see that happen little by little.
The story begins with a change of management in the company Dwyer Knolls works at. He expects to be fired for the big project he lost, but actually the new management considered it a failure to support his vision which actually cost the company a lot of money. Now they are willing to give him a big chance and promote him. The company gets "help" from the Japanese branch and so Dwyer gets a new partner. Not the hot one he wanted to get.. but actually a partner who fast becomes a good friend and the best partner.
