Boyfriend (Moo U #0) [Weston & Abbi] by Sarina Bowen

This book was the exact comfort read I needed. Had a few difficult days, with NO kindle (!)  but I knew there are no excuses when it comes to Sarina. Reading on my phone has been a struggle but I made it work as every page turned I fell for both our MCs. They were beautiful on their own, but together ~sigh~ I couldn't have asked for more.

Both Abbi and Weston has their own personal issues the people around them know nothing about. It's easier for both of them this way as they need to focus on other things. For Abbi, it's finishing college early, finding a well paying job, enough to leave and be able to take care of herself without her step-father's help. She works 2 jobs, study hard, and somehow manages to keep her grades. It's only a few more months. She can feel it. She doesn't need distractions, especially not in a 'player' like Weston, but his offer is more than intriguing.

Weston's life used to be quite ideal. Two loving parents, two siblings, playing the sports he loves. Things changed when his parents got divorced. Suddenly it's not such a bad thing being away from home studying at Moo U. It's trickier on the holidays which is why he posts an ad offering to be the perfect (fake) boyfriend (just) for Thanksgiving (if good food in on the menu).

When Abbi hear and later on sees the ad, it seems like the best buffer for her own family drama. She doesn't really know Weston (aside from being his and his teams' waitress) but it's enough to have a little crush. Weston is not just a good looking athlete, he is also genuinely kind and nice, and after spending the night with her step-family, her opinion of him solidifies even more. She likes him, she likes him A LOT.

Weston had a really great time with Abbi so while he doesn't do relationships, what he can offer Abbi is his friendship. While Abbi would have wanted more, it might be better this way. She will be leaving soon... So when Weston asks Abbi to return the favor and stay with HIS family as his fake girlfriend she accepts.

Being friends, really good friends, who knows so much about each other, things others don't even know about them, spending time together, texting, being involved in each other's lives would have been enough but when the attraction part is added it's obvious why the word "fake" starts to feel a bit fake in itself...

I REALLY enjoyed this one. It was so heartfelt and beautiful. I felt so much for these two, for their own struggles, having so little control of the situations they were in. Yet they found one another and like Abbi said, they learnt each other's "dark secrets" quickly which in turn brought a lot of depth and intimacy into their connection (sooner rather than later). It was impossible NOT to fall for one another with everything they shared and the way they were there for one another. Everything they did and were for one another was the exact thing they needed but didn't know how or of whom to ask. Seeing them finding their solace and love in each other was also everything I needed to read at the moment.

HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (and though part of a series can totally be read as a stand alone, I actually just read one somewhere in the middle).

I kindly received this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
