As these are three rather short novellas in the Portland Heat series I decided to compile my reviews of all three of them together.
The first two I absolutely LOVED. Also loved their story as well so it's no wonder I enjoyed getting MORE of them. The third was somewhat connected but focused on a couple from a book (outside of Portland Heat) which I didn't connect with as much.
All three are free reads (links bellow). If you've read each of the couples' book I say go ahead and grab these treats.
Cranky Christmas [Chris O’Neal & Lance Degrassi] ★★★★★
I LOVE these two SO much. It's Christmas, two years since they moved to California. Things are going GREAT but as Lance seems like he wants a bit more Chris is worried he isn't enough.
A holiday with the big Degrassi family is a staple, but what Chris has in mind works better for him when it's just the two of them (an impossible fit on the holidays and especially with THIS family). What to do?
He figured it out :)
Free E-book. 23 Pages. Read 5 October 2019.
Knit Quick [Brady & Evren Demir] ★★★★★
Living together as a family, Brady and Ev have a lot to deal with, as they say "never a dull moment", even on Valentine's when they have so many plans in mind.
They both share insecurities about the family they formed together. Ev hoping to keep this wonderful gift of Brady and his siblings - have a family of his own, and Brady scared to dream big of owning a coffee cart (like Robby from "Served Hot" the 1st installment). He has the best offer but it's a big step and he needs to be sure it's the right decision for both of them (rather the WHOLE family).
In the end, after a kinky sexy session (they excel at), they realize exactly how they can make each other more secure and happy together.
Free E-book. 30 Pages. Read 5 October 2019.
Waiting for Candy [Bryce Weyland & Clark Kenmore] ★★★
This short novella is a sort of a cross between the characters from Portland Heat - specifically Chris and Lance and Bryce and Clark from "Waiting for Clark". Both couples are struggling with taking the plunge into filling for adoption. While Clark and Lance are sure about what they want, Chris and Bryce bond over them NOT being ready but after helping a new mutual friend they realize that maybe they are.
I'm not sure why I felt like I was missing a "story" in this one. It's either that or I simply couldn't connect with the subject? I wonder if I would have felt differently if I just finished their book and was more focused on the couple and their interaction? Not really sure.
