Ten Simple Tips for Surviving the Apocalypse by Cari Z.

I"m not a fan of the Apocalypse.. There's something so very UNattractive about it. Yet I wanted to read this one because it was by Cari and I do occasionally read books outside of my "comfort zone" when it's by an author I enjoy reading. It's very hard for me to rate this one. It was nice I guess, it was funny at times, ridiculous at others and mostly strange with the "Purple Plague" either killing people or making them, well, PURPLE! (also adding other strange details to appearance as well as some pretty beneficial if not sexy abilities).

Metronomy by Suki Fleet

We start this short novella with our main hero standing on the gallows, ready to be hanged, hoping Hunter will save him. From there, the action starts up until almost the ending, making this short novella impossible to put down. Yeah it's extremely short as it is, yet it was so compelling!

Lima Oscar Victor Echo and The Truth About Everything by Suki Fleet

I decided to add this one by Suki and another shorter one (I"m going to start reading as soon as I"m finished with this review) after reading her short story in "Wish Come True" Anthology earlier this month. Originally I had more full novels but with moving out, moving in, unpacking and all of that I decided to change up a bit and add short reads I won't feel overly committed to. I'm SO happy I added this one now because Suki's published work is too damn long that I'm not sure when I"ll get around to it, but now that I've read another one by her, I'll do my best to add more ASAP (though that too might take time..).
So what am I saying here? pretty obvious - I LOVED IT!

I"m stupid that way that without spelling it out for me, I didn't get that Lima Oscar Victor Echo means LOVE. I was waiting for Echo, Lima and Victor to put an entrance hehe (well, at least at the beginning! :D)

Talker's Graduation (Talker #3) by Amy Lane

~sigh~ what a BEAUTIFUL ending to this heart clenching love story. While the other two novellas in the series held an intense conflict this one was all about the HEA. As with the previous one, we only get Talker's POV and we go back from the past - a while after Brian finished the physiotherapy, and the present in which they are living together in a cottage near the sea.

Talker's Redemption (Talker #2) by Amy Lane

OMG this book was heart CRUSHING. I had a constant stomach ache. Yet I loved it. It was beautiful, sensitive and this time from Talker's POV which was even more difficult considering what it dealt with. Let me just say this before I continue - DON'T read this review if you haven't read the first one because my next sentence is going to spoiler..

Talker (Talker #1) by Amy Lane

I'm not sure what I expected this one to be, mostly I guess I expected to get Talker - Tate Walker's POV but the story is told from his best friend's view - Brian Cooper. Brian has been in love with Talker for most of the time they have been friends but he hasn't even realized that. Talker on the other hand loves Brian dearly but he isn't ready to believe that though Brian says he loves him it means more than just being his straight (!) best friend.

Can't Hold Back (Returning Home #2) [Alia & Nate] by Serena Bell

YES! I couldn't be more happier with this one. Frankly I knew right from the first chapter I'm going to fall hard for this book. This is SO me, how could I fall for an actual real life GUY when I can fall for a BOOK with all it's content? ;) I mean, I LOVED Nate, but we also got Jake from the previous installment and in general I loved everything about this book, so yeah, I'm a goner hehe

In His Sights (Sugarland Blue #3) [Chris & Robyn] by Jo Davis

I"m not sure what to do with this series. While I loved the previous series - Firefighters of Station 5 - this one is different and not in way I appreciate. The story in this one was nice, the romance sweet, there's a bit of action but less than in the first two installments. But there was something missing or rather I felt as though even with their problems Chris and Robyn were too perfect. It's not that I need angst, it's more like it's strange when there isn't any.. also the villain was deranged in a way I find it hard to believe no one spotted...

Frieze Frame by Cari Z.

I'm having the craziest days! Can't believe it took me two days (!) to write a review for this short but fab novella. Honestly from reading the synopsis I was a bit confused.. but as I read it, it became clearer even though it's still kinda strange :)

Thanos is locked in stone by a witch. The place in which he stays becomes a sort of temple, one that is frequent by the witch and others. Through them he learns of the the time that passes by, always lonely and unable to communicate with others. Alive and yet frozen.

Hot Pursuit (Sugarland Blue #2) [Taylor & Cara] by Jo Davis

This one was WAY better than the first installment! I was hooked from the start. I like both MC, they were interesting and I was really curious to how things will play out and all the mysterious details of Cara and Taylor's past. I do wish we got more about Taylor's past, there was a bit mentioned there but not enough to my liking.

Taylor witnessed a horrible scene in which Cara's sister was murdered 4 years ago. But somehow Cara figured it all wrong as though Taylor is the one to blame to what happened that day. Wanting revenge she moves to Sugarland to look for him and make him pay! Yet as she keeps spying on him she is surprised nothing he does fits the profile of the man she thought was responsible for her losing her sister. When he hits on her in the club her band plays at she accepts reluctantly not knowing what to do with him or with the fact she finds him VERY attractive..

On the Clock (Market Garden #8) [Blake & Jason] by L.A. Witt & Aleksandr Voinov

My, my, this one was HOT! I really enjoyed the previous novels in the series but I was wondering how this one would play.. Blake, aka "Rolex", the guy who brought Tristan and Jared together, wasn't what I found appealing in their story, I only saw him there as a "side show". But I gotta say, I really enjoyed how he fell for Jason and the fact Jason was TRYING to play it cool but it became more clear as the story progressed that he sees more in Blake even though we only got Blake's POV.

In All Your Ways by Cari Z.

Sweet story of two angels, one fallen and another still shiny and pure finding a way to be together. Renat and Emiel loves each other yet as Angels it's somehow problematic so when the opportunity comes, Renat decides to Fall and asks Emiel to join him so they could love each other freely.

Sworn to Protect (Sugarland Blue #1) [Shane & Daisy] by Jo Davis

I knew I didn't really like Daisy from the prequel.. but I hoped that it's going to be somehow different when we got the whole story. Sadly I was wrong. Nothing about her made sense to me, not considering she is a grown women. Shane was okay, I really liked him but couldn't see what he found in Daisy which was a part of the problem.. I struggled with this one almost from the start. At the third mark I knew it's NOT going to be a favorite but on 56% I decided it's only getting to a place when I want them APART and not together so.. that's where I stopped.

Making It Work by Cari Z.

I've read another short novellas by Cari and enjoyed it SO much I knew I gotta add more by her. Lucky for me, with my endless list of books most of her published work is short novellas so I had no problem adding most of them for my (almost) immediate reading list

This novella is a free read from the M/M Romance Group in GoodReads, a participant wrote a description of what she had in mind with a photo and Cari delivered! This short novella is told solely from Eric's POV. He is a PA in a law firm, working for Beau, one of the senior partners. Eric has a crush on his boss for quite a while.. They have been working for two years together and as time goes by he only wants him more, but he won't be a cliche.. so he settles with being office friends.

Armed and Dangerous (Sugarland Blue #0.5) [Shane & Daisy] by Jo Davis

This was a nice prequel to the series. We've met most of the MC from the police station even if for a glimpse (or a mention) also the "Firefighters of Station 5" made an appearance near the end. This short novella does feel in a way like a full story because there's a full mystery arc, and yet, it's not.. this is only the beginning for Detective Shane Ford and Officer Daisy Callahan. They might have known each other from high school but they kept their distance for years. Now working together on a case they finally have time to spend time together - as a married couple no less.. The next book in the series - the first installment - we'll get a new mystery and their true HEA.

Wish Come True by Keira Andrews, Joanna Chambers, Amy Jo Cousins, Megan Erickson, Suki Fleet, Kaje Harper & Anyta Sunday

This is a holiday anthology I was really excited to read. First it contains a novella by Joanna Chambers - no doubt it means it's a MUST read, then I realized it also has novellas by Amy Jo Cousins and Megan Erickson! Yeah, I clicked on the buy button without thinking more about it. I recently read a short story by Kaje Harper I really enjoyed and planned on reading more by her so I was happy about that as well. I haven't read anything by the other authors and so it's a good opportunity to sample more "new" (=to me) authors.

Another reason to grab this anthology is its worthy cause! The proceedings will be donated to "Lost-N-Found" youth - a nonprofit corporation whose mission is to take LGBTQ youths off the streets into permanent housings.

The Deepest Blue (Roadmap to Your Heart #2) [Dean & Callum] by Christina Lee

What a pleasure this novel was ~sign~ I loved pretty much everyone! and especially the surrounding of the retreat owned by the Montgromerys. There is actually no real connection between this one and the previous installment. There was a little mention of Dean's relative who is part of the "Disciples of the Road" MC club but besides a mention and a phone conversation this story is totally and absolutely a stand alone novel.

Dean and Cassie are best friends, not only that, they are roommates. When Cassie needs to return home to a cousin's wedding she asks Dean to accompany her. Cassie explains to her openly gay best friends she doesn't want her family to get "in her business" about her relationship situation (especially since they have someone specific in mind that she is NOT interested in). Dean accepts though he isn't sure how a vegetarian city boy like himself would get along with Cassie's hunter family and not to mention the rural area in which they live in. Yep, it was funny (in a kind of scary way, for me at least..) that first thing he stumbles upon his arrival is the family dealing with a "stray snake".

Unnatural (Enlightenment #4) [Iain & James] by Joanna Chambers

Outstanding. This is another one of those I'm reluctant to write a review because I KNOW I won't be able to express just HOW amazing it was! So if I wasn't clear before - I LOVED this book to pieces. It broke my heart and patched it back together. I found myself holding a hand over my chest the last third of the book and I literally shed tears (which is very uncommon!) at a few breaking points. My oh my oh my, Iain and James, what a ride they had until they found their HEA.

We've met Iain in the Enlightenment series, first in the very short novella "Season's End" (between the 1st and 2nd installment) if you're read it you might remember Iain having a scene in this "high society brothel" in which he yells at a young guy that he shouldn't be there and he shouldn't have gotten an invitation / recommendation and so on.. the scene continues on to Murdo without an explanation to what actually went on there. This is the last time Iain and James meet but it's not where the story starts.

Humbug by Joanna Chambers

Let's face it, this one getting a 5 star review is NO surprise and yet when I started reading this one I was a bit worried.. I mean, Quin sounds like a real douche.. redeeming a douche is ALWAYS a possibility but question is - can it be done in 74 pages? YES, apparently ;)

Quin Flint is exactly the kind of guy I would love to hate. A self centered guy, who is not only just about himself, he is also all about the job and thinks everyone around him MUST be consumed by work responsibility 24/7.. He is a mean boss, he doesn't interact with his workers in a considerate way and not only that, he is also not that a good friend to his REAL friends.

In Your Eyes (Mates #3) [Samuel & Korban] by C. Cardeno

~sigh~ I can't be more pleased with this beautiful love story. I read it in two gulps. The first up until the most significant moment of confrontation between the two packs where I realized I"m too ansgty to handle what's going to happen.. then returned the day after to read the whole thing in one sitting. I loved both Samuel and Korban though we only heard Samuel's voice. They truly completed one another.

Until Forever Comes (Mates #2) [Ethan & Miguel] by C. Cardeno

Well, I liked this one, but not as I did the first one. Which is a part of the problem - I'm comparing! I"m not sure what I would have thought if I'd read this one as the first in the series.. I loved Zev and Jonah SO MUCH. But here Ethan felt a bit "weak". He is sweet, I'll give him that, but he is also very childish and needs a lot of taking care of / teaching the way of the world which I wasn't very fond of. Miguel was sort of sweet in a creepy sort of way ;) He is a "bad ass" vampire, very strong and old, Ethan totally takes him by surprise. He is attracted to him, he wants to protect him - what's up with that? Ethan calling him his "true mate" doesn't really help because Miguel doesn't believe in these things.. In general he isn't very impressed with the shifters (which was really interesting actually, getting the story from a vampire's perspective). But it doesn't take much for both of them to realize they are "it" for one another - Until Forever Comes.

Wake Me Up Inside (Mates #1) [Zev & Jonah] by C. Cardeno

This is the first book I've read by Cardeno, I got great recommendations for books by her and I was really excited to finally try her books. Actually I didn't really know what to expect, as it was, I started the first chapter before going to bed and even from reading the synopsis the day after, it was different from what I expected.

First off, this book it SO damn sweet, the romance was heart warming in a way, honestly, I'm surprised wasn't a bit too much for me. I was just hooked from the first chapter to Zev and Jonah's love story, I couldn't wait to get to the point when Zev and Jonah are finally connected as mates.

Real World (Bend or Break #5) [Tom & Reese] by Amy Jo Cousins

This one was everything I could have hoped for and more. I can't express how happy I am with the way this one turned out. I LOVED both Tom and Reese in the 1st installment in the series, and yeah, it was obvious that their problems won't just disappear when they are finally committed to one another but here we got to see them 4 years later and though there's much of the same (no one changes over night..), it's different, their relationship is stronger, their connection is beautiful and even when they are both making mistakes it's obvious where their heart are.

Level Hands (Bend or Break #4) [Denny & Rafi] by Amy Jo Cousins

I loved the little glimpse I got of Denny and Rafi in the previous installment and was really interested in getting their story. Through the synopsis it's quite obvious we are going to get Rafi's POV, with his struggles in a new place (Carlisle College) where he doesn't fit in, for too many reasons.. his color, being gay, lacking academically, not coming from "money" and especially since he is only there because of a scholarship he got from Cash and Denny's family heavy meddling

If someone can get what it feels like being an outsider it's me. Though I never had any of the specific problems Rafi has. I could totally get the feeling of inferiority and what it made him think, but I couldn't understand what it made him DO - mostly toward Denny - his only point of support

The Girl Next Door (Bend or Break #3) [Cash & Steph] by Amy Jo Cousins

This wasn't exactly what I was expecting.. I mean, I LOVED Cash, he is one of my absolute favorite male characters. He's got it all, mostly a BIG heart and no prejudice no matter the subject. It's exactly what makes him such a good friend not only to Reese and Tom, but also to Steph, even if back in college their friendship had a bit more.. Now, a few years later, he is living in Chicago, has left all his fortune behind to coach young kids through a none profit organization.

As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride by Cary Elwes

"The Princess Bride" is my absolute favorite movie. I can and had watched it gazillion times and know all of it by heart. It's a brilliant movie, can be watched by kids as well as grown ups and it never feels "old". If you haven't watched it - now is the time. Though maybe you should watch it with someone else who HADN'T watched it or by yourself (if none other virgins can be found ;)) because there is nothing WORSE than watching a movie with someone who keeps quoting the WHOLE movie next to you ;)

I came by this book totally by accident. I was talking to my brother about Andre The Giant and said I've heard so many amazing things about him by fellow cast members. So when I went on a look out on Youtube I found a video of Cary Elwes promoting his new book and I simply HAD to have it.

Nothing Like Paris (Bend or Break #2) [Jack & Miguel] by Amy Jo Cousins

While I absolutely LOVED the previous one this one was VERY disappointing. I didn't know what I would feel about Jack who was really mean to Tom in the previous installment. The question of "is he redeemable" was asked and the answer is - there is nothing to redeem. If I would have heard/read about him without knowing his age, I won't give him more than 9 years old and that's me being generous.. The point where I stopped (32%) was after he and Mike/Miguel were on a mission to hang a poster of Batman on the school's wall. Well, I think it was a wall, frankly in a certain point I started skimming this chapter, not understanding what the F I'm reading here..

Off Campus (Bend or Break #1) [Tom & Reese] by Amy Jo Cousins

Though I was really looking forward to reading this series, when it was right there in it's scheduled spot I was a bit worried.. I've just put aside a series people were raving about and now here's another series I heard so many great things about and I wasn't sure what to expect. So when I finally had the time Friday evening I just opened the book and started reading (then stopped and remembered I didn't even read the synopsis! went back to read it and continued on). It was 1 AM in the morning when I realized I WANT to keep on reading but my eyes are burning with how tired I am. Reluctant I went to sleep only to wake up two hours later to read a bit more, then woke up in the morning to finish it. Didn't even have my coffee..

I was really floored by just HOW amazing this book was. In a way I don't like writing a raving review of a book I absolutely love because I feel like I'm screwing it up! There is NO WAY I'm able to express how good it was, how and why I liked it that much and here it's the same. I loved both MC, they both dealt with horrible experiences, were doing the best they could on their own and it just didn't cut it. Because as much as we want to be big heroes and deal with life, sometimes it's a bit too much for us on our own, especially since we adapt a certain world view according to our experiences (not always positive or adaptive) so another person's perspective is a good idea. I'm saying here that not only Reese and Tom were PERFECT for one another they genuinely NEEDED each other.

Unforgivable by Joanna Chambers

Truthfully, it's pointless to even attempt to write a review for this OUTSTANDING novel. It's one of THE best I've read this year. I enjoyed many books this year, some by authors I know and other by authors I WISH to know better, but this one, I don't know, just throw me completely. Even though I already knew I loved everything else I've read by Joanna it was still a surprise just how MUCH I enjoyed it. Especially with one issue it deals with that could have changed my review for the worst - it's no secret that the hero cheats on the heroine - repeatedly! But before you condemn this book because of this issue, or because you're not into HR, or some other reason - please, I ask of you - give it a shot. It's SO well written, it's IMPOSSIBLE to put down and it's so heart crushing it's impossible not to be sucked into this story without even wanting to return to life as we know it.

You see what I mean? what is there more to say?

Yet, I WILL write a review, if only to give you an idea of what this one is about, and to remind myself in the future when I look at this beautiful cover and try to remember what it was all about and why I get the sudden feeling as though I want to hug the screen...

It's Not Shakespeare by Amy Lane

Well, I liked this book but frankly, I didn't really enjoy it. I know it doesn't make any sense, it's just that on the one hand, I really liked the idea, the concept of a professor, a literature professor (!) dating an Hispanic mechanic with no real education, and yet, I didn't really "connect" with both MC. There was something that was putting me off both of them (on their own, I did like them together). I struggled to finish this one, even though it's quite short.

Alex (Cold Fury Hockey #1) [Alex & Sutton] by Sawyer Bennett

I truly expected to love this series and yet I don't.. there were few things that annoyed me enough to put this book aside and not continue on reading this series. First off, I have to say, even if it's obvious - this is my personal opinion - so feel free to disagree and rave about this series. I've read a LOT of positive reviews to realize I'm not in the majority here, which is fine by me.

Stroke of Midnight (Midnight Breed #13.5) [Jehan & Seraphina] by Lara Adrian

What a sweet story! Really enjoyed this one! I love the Midnight Breed Series, but though it was a part of it, it was somehow totally independent and had a very special feel to it because of the setting and the way the MC come to be together. It felt like an Arabian tale, or maybe an Arabian Fairy Tale.

The Dark Tide (Adrien English #5) by Josh Lanyon

Well, it's finally behind me. I can finally say I know what everyone is talking about when they mention Adrien English, and yet I can't say that I was overly impressed, not by this specific novel, and not by the previous ones in the series. I guess we got what we wanted in this one, there IS a HEA, and yet I can't say that I felt pleased when I closed my kindle.

Death of a Pirate King (Adrien English #4) by Josh Lanyon

This one was definitely the best until now. The writing as usual was superb, the romance (with Jake) actually progressed and I liked the way it turned out in the end. I think that what happened now should have happened a LONG time ago considering this book takes place 2 years after the previous one (about 3 years since the start point of the series).

The Hell You Say (Adrien English #3) by Josh Lanyon

I wasn't that impressed that with this one. As with the previous one, the plot wasn't that engaging, though you would think a story with Satanic ritual would hold me better.. and yet it didn't. I was overly annoyed with the (none) romantic side to this story as well..

A Dangerous Thing (Adrien English #2) by Josh Lanyon

I don't know.. I liked the progression of Jake and Adrien's relationship, I really did! and yet the story itself just didn't "grip" me - I was struggling with it most of the way. This time I guessed (right!) who the villain was, but I wasn't that interested in the whole way the story portrayed / mystery unraveled. The main thing I enjoyed was witnessing Adrien and Jake getting closer.

Fatal Shadows (Adrien English #1) by Josh Lanyon

I"m not sure what I was expecting from this one, but what I got was a bit different. Yeah, I've heard great things about Josh but less than the first page made me realize what it is - the writing. The first sentence was funny, the whole way Adrien (our sole POV) saw the world around him and interpreted it was a joy to read. If you're hoping this will be a Romantic Suspense with the Romance highlighted you might be disappointed, there is VERY little of it if any in this book.

Adrien English is a book story owner. His store specializes in Mystery, he himself is in the middle of his debut novel and has an assortment  group of friends who meet together weekly to discuss their books in progress. But when you think about his social life, it's pretty much nonexistant.. He lives over the store with his grandmother's furniture he inherited, hasn't had a lover in years after a bad break up and has a strange non-affectionate relationship with his mother whom he meets out of habit once a week. Yep, to me at least it sounds pretty boring..

Never Let You Go (A Modern Fairytale, #2) [Griselda & Holden] by Katy Regnery

Oh my, what an UBER emotional ride.. While the previous Fairytale of "Beauty and the Beast" was sweet and heartfelt, this one of "Hansel and Gretel" was heart breaking and angsty. It had a total different feel / vibe to it. I have to say, though I DO enjoy angsty novels, this one was stretching it a bit for me. I mean, I still really enjoyed it - I ached for both MC, waiting for them to FINALLY get what the SO deserved and yet, there were times were I thought that it's taking too long. I"m spoiled like that.. I"m not used to singular novels containing more than 400 pages. Mostly I don't see the NEED for such a long ride, maybe in a PNR and especially in a series when there is more back stories / sub plots and world building.

Okay, so let's talk about the novel already. Holder and Griselda are our modern day "Hansel and Gretel", Griselda has been living in foster care for most of her life and Holder is the new addition to the house she is living in now. They form a quiet connection on the first night he arrives so when she volunteers to walk to buy sandwiches for the whole family while on vocation he asks to join her. They meet with Caleb Foster on their way who convinces Griselda to take them back to the camp where they are staying, while Holder doesn't believe Caleb he rather stay with Griselda than leave her behind.

The Vixen and the Vet (A Modern Fairytale, #1) [Savannah & Asher] by Katy Regnery

What a STUNNING love story. Well, I guess I AM a sucker for a fairy tale, especially for "Beauty and the Beast". It's the first I've read by Katy and it WON'T be the last (and not simply because I have the next installment right after this one ;))

The beginning of the story was the most cliche of all, but it gave the story a beautiful frame. Savannah is sitting with her soon to be married little sister Scarlet. Scarlet is reading an article on how to make sure the guy you're with is "the one" for you forever. What starts as random facts Scarlet is trying to see if apply to her relationship with her soon to be husband Trent becomes the exact frame - with most chapters having a title  from this list. Savannah's love for Asher and him for her is something neither of them expected would happen but it did, with every sentence from that list crossed.

The Fifteenth Minute (The Ivy Years #5) [Lianne & Daniel] by Sarina Bowen

Well, it's NO surprise this one was absolutely a JOY to read. I knew I'd love to hear Lianne's story and Daniel (DJ) was SUCH a sweet heart I just couldn't NOT fall in love with him myself. He had quite the challenge in this book, again I have to congratulate Sarina for bringing into her books unique subjectד that rarely being discussed. So it's more than just a fun New Adult Romance novel, Lianne's life and struggles as well as Daniel were so different (from one another) and special (on their own).

Autumn Moon (Celtic Wolves #3) [Elen & Cormack] by Jan DeLima

I waited so long for this book and now that it's here, now that I've read Elen and Cormack's story I feel like all I can do is sigh in contentment. Seriously, in a way, I don't even have anything to say. I just loved it. All of it. Hated having to put it down (but I did.. remember that HUGE exam I have this week? yep, DESTROYED my happy place :/).

Elen and Cormack romance, right from the first book where it was impossible, was so unique, special, heart warming (and clenching) and then came the ending following the second book with a real opportunity for them, and yet Cormack kept to himself and Elen was confused and sad she doesn't have her best friend anymore and Cormack was tormented with wanting to be a REAL man for her.

Bold (Blue Boy #3) [Kai & Matthew] by Garrett Leigh

I'm not even sure why, this one was different from the previous two installments, it was more about the romance and way (!) more emotional. There was a huge part of us getting to know the new managers of "Blue Boy" who are really awesome! (and also sweet :)) and another part about Kai getting his GED. As with the previous one, we got quite a lot of glimpses into Cam and Sonny as well as a little bit of Levi. Sonny and Levi are still at odds which put me off, I wanted to KNOW what's going on and I was left with none.

Bones (Blue Boy #2) [Cam & Sasha] by Garrett Leigh

Okay.. this was ANOTHER surprise. I was already expecting to love this one even though I was skeptical about the first mostly because of the location - a Porn Studio (?) sounds like the best place to lose a plot line ;) and yet, I loved it, then when I started reading this one and was introduced (again) to Cam in a BDSM sex scene that made no sense?! I had to re-read a few paragraphs in the first page to make sure I"m in the right place - yep I am. So what's going on? I stopped reading, went to the book's GR page and checked again the synopsis and categories this one was under - totally Contemporary. Well, lets keep on reading.. and I did. COULDN'T put it down. I did, for a long conversation with my roommate which ended in "I NEED TO RETURN TO MY BOOK". Next thing I know, it's was after 2 a.m. and I reached "The End" with a stupid smile on my face.

Bullet (Blue Boy #1) [Levi & Sonny] by Garrett Leigh

After reading a few of Garrett's novel I started obsessively adding more books by her. When I got to this series I decided to leave it till the end not being sure I'll actually read it.. and yet when these were the last one on my list I knew that even though the subject was putting me off I HAVE to give it a try - and I'm really happy I did! :)

The synopsis states boldly that Levy is a gay porn star, now getting a proposal he can't deny doing something he isn't sure he is able to do. Also the scene is between Dex (a VERY aggressive top) and Sonny (a guy he can't stand) and he's suppose to be somewhere in the middle.. yeah.. sounds like a total torment.. and yet, Levi needs the money badly to pay his mother's debts so he sort off doesn't have any choice..

Lucky Man (Heated Beat #2) [Danny & Finn] by Garrett Leigh

Sweet and heart warming short novel. I already stated many times before how much I enjoy Garrett's writing, this one being no different, yet I gotta say I have a lot more respect for her after reading this one with what Finn was dealing with. I"m not going to write what (not to spoiler..), I'm just going to say that it's quite rare that authors choose to write flawed characters especially the way Finn is..

My Mate Jack (Heated Beat #1) [Will & Jack] by Garrett Leigh

A very angsty yet sweet short novella. I gotta say, up until now, every book I've read by Garrett was excellent this one being no different. She has a gift with describing intimacy and relationship buildup in SUCH a beautiful way it's always a joy to read. Considering the plot line and general idea behind this story, I can honestly say I would expect to not really like it / feel connected, but since it's Garrett, I wasn't really worried.

Jack and Will are best friends and have been for most of their lives. Will knew he was gay from a young age, it was also obvious to him he is VERY attracted to his best friend. On two separate occasions Jack offers Will something he can't say no to, even though Jack's reasoning is lost on him.. Especially since Will is (obviously) Straight and what he asks for.. isn't..

Bound to Darkness (Midnight Breed #13) [Carys Chase & Rune] by Lara Adrian

The Paranormal Romance used to be my most favorite genre. I used to read almost SOLELY Paranormal and mostly vampires, but if I look back on what I've read for the past few months, besides a few very short Fantasy / Paranormal novellas the last Vampire PNR I read was back in April! It's strange. I still LOVE this genre, and yet I mostly read "regular" / "real world" romance now. A lot more MM compared to MF. So when I realized the next book on my list is a PNR MF I was in a way surprised - that it's still on my list and I haven't read it since it was out, and the fact that I really couldn't remember when I've read a good PNR as I used to love doing ALL the time.

I'm not sure what I feel about this novel. I had a problem with the progression of Carys and Rune's relationship. Unlike previous books in the series, this book starts with Carys and Rune already a formed couple. Well, sort of.. Rune laid out the cards from the start - whatever happens between them - it will last as long as they are both enjoying it. So I guess it's no wonder they sounded to me more like "fuck-buddies" than a real couple.. and even though both proclaim they DO have deep feeling from one another I didn't see the "base" to these feelings besides their excessive sexual need for one another (I'll admit to skimming through some of those..).

The Lady's Secret by Joanna Chambers

Perfection. I kinda feel like being naughty and leaving this review with just this single word. Frankly, there is little to add. I can tell you how amazing the story was, how much I enjoyed the characters and mostly the relationship buildup. How great the whole "time and place" was for me even though I don't read Historical that often. Yeah, I could also tell you how intrigued I was by the whole plot line and everything that happened and how I imagined it would play and the fact it didn't play as I thought it would.. I could tell you all that but it simply WON'T express just how much I enjoyed it and how much you HAVE to grab it and read it. I tell you now Joanna can write about apes and chickens populating the moon and I'd happily read it!

So, let's write a few words on the plot, shall we?

Introducing Mr. Winterbourne (Winterbourne #1) [Lysander & Adam] by Joanna Chambers

REALLY enjoyed this one! I loved everything I've read by Joanna and this seems no different! This story is really short time-wise - the whole plot takes place in ONE day in which Lysander Winterbourne has to take Adam Freeman - a wealthy business man who is about to marry his sister - around Town.

They don't start off well especially with everyone looking down at Adam for not being Nobility and Adam on his part isn't impressed or interested in all these snob-y types. Then when the both just act on what THEY enjoy they start to see each other in a total different way.
