Lumber Jacked (Rainbow Cove, #3) [Johnny & Cam] by Annabeth Albert

Oh, I LOVED this one. What a sweet kinky little novella. Though frankly it felt like so much more somehow. I also really appreciated the bonus chapter we get in the newer version. This started out as a free read and now it's up on Amazon for 99 cents with a real bonus treat! Highly recommend you get this newer version even if - like me - you already got the free shorter one.

We've met Johnny briefly in the previous installment. Curtis "warned" Logan he wouldn't be his type and hinted to bondage. As it seems that's exactly Johnny''s thing, and he has made a sexy hobby out of it, one new in town vlogger Cam is intrigued to try.

Cam came to live with his aunt Martha after a bad breakup. Now that Valentine's is over the corner he hopes to find someone even if just to make his ex jealous. What he finds on his doorstep is the sexiest lumberjack he could have imagined. When Johnny offers him a wild and sexy way of making himself feel hot while making his ex feel he missed out it doesn't take him long to say he's totally IN.

Johnny's kink is bonadge as I"ve mentioned. But he doesn't do it just in his relationiships and it's not truly about D/s it's something he is simply into and enjoys not only the intricate bonds but also taking artistic  photos of. Pepole come to him exactly for that. Singles of either gender, sometimes couples. It's fun and hot for him but it never felt like it did with Cam.

Cam was truly intrigued by being bonded - by Johnny specifically. He feels safe and secure in Johnny's space and it seems that Johnny is into him as well, including his femminine side - makeup, glitter and all. He couldn't have asked for more, yet he wonders if it's not just Johnn's Friday flavor when he wishes for so much more.

Johnny knows almost right from the start there is something MORE to Cam. When he sees Cam is confused and unsure about what's going on between them it doesn't take him long to put himself out there. I REALLY apprecaited how intuned with himself Johnny was. He knew what he wanted and knew how to make Cam SEE what this thing between them could be. There might have been a big age difference (15 years) but truth being told I think it's exactly what each of them needed and enjoyed in one another and also Cam for sure acted more mature than I would expected in his age (23).

I liked the interaction between these two. They were sweet and genuine together. Johnny might look like the "big bad Dom" but he is actually a really sweet, thoughtful and caring guy. I think that really worked out for Cam as well. He didn't look for a D/s relationship, but a little bit of kink, the feel of giving control for a certain time simply worked for him and especially worked for THEM. This is something that I somehow "get" more than a full D/s relationship I find somehow harder to connect with. This felt like FUN with an added benefit for both men with the special kind of care each enjoyed and truly needed. With Annabeth's beautiful writing it was so easy for me to not only "get" but also deeply connect with both men through the exposure of their inner thoughts and emotions, briniging me something a bit different than my usual read to enjoy.

Yep, Recommended for sure - as the other books in this series! Though you don't have to read the previous ones, as this one, more than the previous two can be read as a standalone since the other characters from the first two installments are mentioned only briefly.

ABOUT THIS SERIES

Rainbow Cove is a Contemporary MM Romance series by Annabeth Albert. The series takes place in the sleepy town of Rainbow Cove where everyone knows each other's business because that's how small towns are - for good or for worse.

The series mostly centers around one of the three partners - Mason, Logan and Adams - opening a gay-friendly eatery out of the old bar and grill in the tourist town of Rainbow Cove, Oregon.

I ADORED all installments in the series. They are beautifully written and while some dealing with painful life situations they are a JOY to read. There's a bit of kink involved but it never takes the center from the relationship itself. Also most of these couple have quite a big age difference but it simply works for them.

HIGHLY RECOMENEDED!
