Manhandled by T. Baggins (S.A. Reid) & Rosemary O'Malley

I've read enough reviews of this one to know what I"m getting myself into. I don't think I would have handled it as I did without knowing that this short novella teeters on the verge of consent.. be advised! also it's mostly an Erotica novella though it has a drop of romance in the end.

I actually liked it. I"m not sure I would have thought the same if it was a full length novel. But since it was short and hot I could somewhat appreciate it even if it's not my usual (or actual) taste.

Brendan and Stephan meet for the first time when Brendan pulls his into a broom closet mistaking him for his boyfriend who just complained how dull Brendan is in bed.. wanting to show how adventurous he actually is he plans on a little "play". It takes him time to realize Stephan ISN'T actually Kent.. But Stephan though frightened is HIGHLY aroused by the whole deal. While Stephan hasn't seen Brendan's face Brendan did, he shined a flashlight on him to verify him NOT being Kent.. but as they depart they don't expect to ever see each other again.

Their next accidental meeting takes place about a month later where Stephan gets to play the "hunter" and Brendan the "hunted". I think what made this novella more acceptable is the fact that both Brendan and Stephan are really into this role playing on the verge of consent thing. So when Brendan enjoys being taken by Stephan it somehow builds the way for them to try something more..

There is a little bit more to this novella. I"m not going to say more not to spoiler. I WILL say that though Brendan and Stephan's characters are very different they fit really well and even though Stephan is inexperienced I think for him it worked for the best as he was frightened to even try the first step and here Brendan pushed him to his limit and the arousal did it's "magic".

I SHOULD say I don't really "approve" of most of what happened between the two of them. While I did accept it as something that worked for them and I do realize it's a fictional story I think the authors were walking a thin line to rape which I don't find "entertaining" and I DON"T think should be addressed lightly.

I don't think I would have even given it a try if it wasn't by T. Baggins, as it seems she is making me more "adventurous" in what I read, yet this is still something I'm not really comfortable with and won't be something I delve myself into. A dip here and there but nothing more. Just for the sake of trying out and seeing what I think. Mostly I think "this isn't me" yet I think as a short novella it played out much better than I would have thought.
