Edge of Dawn (Midnight Breed #11 - Mira and Kellan) by Lara Adrian

Oh my, oh my...
After the last book (which I rated 3 stars..) and after how things ended I didn't know what to expect..
Lara surely re-invented the series while keeping what's important to the story - The characters we SO love and the ones we wanted to see as grown-ups.
Now, there are so many opportunities!
First story was meant to be Kellan and Mira.. It couldn't be any other one.

Darker After Midnight (Midnight Breed #10 - Chase and Tavia) by Lara Adrian

I'm not sure how to rate this book. I'm leaning towards 3.5 stars..

The story itself of Tavia and Chase wasn't bad. I think that they fit. it "works" in my mind. But I think that their story was lacking in a way. I didn't see enough of them as a couple or "couple to be" (you know when it's still confusing for the both of them). Tavia is SO cool but I felt she was too anemic to who she "could" be, with her potential. .her resolve to end Dragos was simply stupid though it turned out for the best in the end... Chase in my mind is just, well, tiring, his conflicts ran through too many books that in the end I was just "not in the mood" to have more of his shit concentrated in one book.

The Midnight Breed Series Companion (Volume #1) (Midnight Breed #0.5 - Gideon and Savannah) by Lara Adrian

Usually I'm not into these companion sort of books but I guess after 11 books you kind of get "mixed-up" with everyone.. who's got which special power, what was that "guy"'s woman, how someone ended up etc.
So it's nice to have this compilation you can check up the details of the characters, not only the main ones but much more than that.

Deeper Than Midnight (Midnight Breed #9 - Hunter and Corrine) by Lara Adrian

After reading most of the series one-after-the-other I made a small break reading sweet novellas that mostly has nothing supernatural about them.

When I was looking at my "schedule" and saw that the next one "should" be book 9 in the Midnight Breed - a book about Hunter which should be VERY interesting I kind of sighed. I wasn't sure I was "ready" to return to the series for some un-known reason.
So I just opened the book and started reading. first page - bam! action pack of Chase and Hunter. from there it was obvious I won't put this book down...

A Taste of Midnight (Midnight Breed #9.5 - Danika and Malcolm) by Lara Adrian

Sweet Novella.
We had a glimpse of Danika in a previous book that led me to believe we will be hearing from her again though it was obvious she can't really return to the Order (too many memories).
I loved that she got her HEA after losing Conlan.
Bran was exactly what she needed, I wouldn't have felt it "right" with anyone else, I mean with someone totally new.
He's past story felt just as right to bringing them together.

The Reluctant Nude by Meg Maguire

A beautiful story.

Fallon made a deal (not the best one, but that's what she got) with someone she dislikes immensely (but loves her in his own twisted way) - if she wants the deed to her foster mother's house she has to pose nude for Max Emery - an amazing sculpturer - and once her "admirer" receives the sculpture the deed is hers.

Duplicity by Kristina M. Sanchez

There aren't enough "stars to fill" to relate how amazing I found this novella to be.

I just finished and HAD to say - Kristina - please! - write something, anything, I'll be pre ordering it then consuming it the second it gets out.

Lord Rakehell's Love (The Curse of True Love #1) by Donna Cummings

I'll start by saying I guess I'm not a Historical Novel kind of gal.
I read a short novella in this genre and maybe I read a full novel years and years ago. I gave this a try since I loved other books by Donna ("I do or die" had me on the floor laughing!) and since I believe in trying out new things, and reading "outside of my comfort zone" (which is VERY comfortable ;))

Maybe I'm too used to how we interact "now-days" and its strange for me to think of the "old-days" donno.

Dangerous Magic by Samantha Hunter

This novella was so-so for me.. I liked it but it didn't "drew me in". the story itself was nice - we are in the city of Salem and we have a story with witchcraft. Gwen is a witch though she isn't very committed to the wicca way of living. She meets Nathan on the local wicca store - he isn't into magic, he doesn't even believe in magic (though he has a secret of his own) but he is there to write a story about "modern witches".
