Strangers on a Train by Ruthie Knox, Donna Cummings, Samantha Hunter, Serena Bell, Meg Maguire

I LOVED all 5 of these.
Each one is a really short novella (about 70 pages) and they are fabulous!! It's really a nice idea that each one of the authors wrote some story taking place on a train - each one is different though the setting is the same.

Ticket Home (Strangers on a Train) by Serena Bell

This is my 5th book in the "Strangers in a Train". I loved it!
We meet Amy who left Seattle and Jeff to pursue a work opportunity. Jeff was upset with how this thing all played out. But after a while he realized how much he misses her and how much he is willing to do to bring her back home to him. He figures he'll take the train she usually takes to work and make her listen to him while on the train - she has no-where to go on the train.. Amy doesn't want to return back home with Jeff. their relationship had its problems and she doesn't think that coming to talk to her on the train will make any difference. In her eyes HIS work always came first - before her - so the opportunity of this new job was what she needed (as an excuse) to leave him.
So we are left with Amy and Jeff on the same train day after day - Him trying to convince her it's going to be different and her trying not to yield to her attraction and love for him when she is trying to make the right decision for herself.

Taken by Midnight (Midnight Breed #8 - Brock and Jenna) by Lara Adrian

Yeah, I loved this book :)
Brock really has a cool talent (I'm not sure he thinks that at all times ;)), he is drawn to Jenna right from the first time they meet (on the previous book). He takes care of Jenna from that first meeting and not so slowly and surely falls in love with her (and she with him).

Shades of Midnight (Midnight Breed #7 - Cade and Alex) by Lara Adrian

This one was "so-and-so" didn't like it like the previous one of Andreas. I feel that it wasn't as "catching" as the others.

I liked Kade and his special animalistic ability (I get why Alex felt jealous of his ability ;)) Alex was OK. she was a little "strange" in a sense that she is a "running fighter", or rather was always a runner but in no time at all she becomes too brave. As it was a "rushed" bravery.

Ashes of Midnight (Midnight Breed #6 - Andreas Reichen and Claire) by Lara Adrian

What a rush! I read this book in two "gulps" the first last night till I realized I HAD to go to sleep then today when I returned home from work and shamefully done little else than read :]

I enjoyed this book immensely! I knew I'm going to love Andre's book (I'm allowing myself to nickname him - deal with it!) since I loved him from the second we encountered his character. I knew this guy is going to stay somehow with the Order. He might be a "suit" but he is dying for action :)

Two Perfect by Samantha Hunter

The idea behind this story is nice. After a "bad break up" we sometimes have our insecurities. They're not always very defined, sometimes we are just worried it just "won't work out" or we won't find anyone or they are all jurks out there ;) But Eva has quite a defined fear. She thinks she is simply boring and un-adventuress in bed (thanks to her ex-boyfriend).

Thank You for Riding (Strangers on a Train) by Meg Maguire

How do I summarize this sweet sweet novella?
I'll first say I loved it!
Caitlin just got dumped. It's not that the guy was so important to her its expectation blowing up to reality.. When she lets her mind free to imagine what to come [ and she does that a lot through the story which is funny and most of it a little unrealistic on the realistic side.. :) ] breaking up is not what she expected. She returns home only to meet on the train (da!) this cute guy she saw when the both of them were donating blood.

Tight Quarters (Strangers on a Train) by Samantha Hunter

Brenna and Reid are "stuck" together for a few days in the same berth on a train when both of them wants this trip to be a "time off". Actually Reid doesn't mind that much sharing the berth with her, but he won't give up his place on the train, while Brenna, dealing with her claustrophobia - REALLY doesn't want to share the berth with him (he's too big! :D) or anyone else that clouds her space and she surely doesn't want to give up the ride.

Veil of Midnight (Midnight Breed #5 - Niko and Renata) by Lara Adrian

I'm not sure why I'm giving this book 4 stars. Renata is really cool. I differently like her! and Niko is an interesting guy, I think his gift is "cute" and works well for me with the ending of the story (I'm speaking of the last chapter - and I'm not saying more!).

We are introduced to a new character which as I understand will be a "regular" and also we are introduced to a situation which I guess will lead to another "regular". so this book is important in the "scheme" of things. But somehow the book didn't "held me up" as the previous ones did.

Barely There by Samantha Hunter

I didn't know what I was thinking about this story while reading it. It's really short, about 40 pages I think. It's quite strange. I wasn't sure if it's a "strange good" or a "strange bad".
But in the end I really liked it.
These 40 pages are packed with sex and emotions though it's quite obvious where this is going..

Bending Over Backwards by Samantha Hunter

I'm in the middle of Midnight Breed Series (fictional and vampiric), just finished the 4th book and wanted something sweet and easy to read. It was quite early in the evening and I had a few hours to read before I sign out for the day. grabbed this one and drowned in it.

What a sweet sweet story!

Midnight Rising (Midnight Breed #4 - Rio and Dylan) by Lara Adrian

Sweet sweet book :)
Rio went through a lot that he doesn't want to recover. but ending his life isn't easy as well as it seems. he can't see himself really improving, getting back to his old life with the order, and no way with a relationship. Dylan is a real surprise, she surprises him a lot during the book. through in the beginning their relationship was strained (I'm trying not to spoiler here :]) she realizes she become attach to him and doesn't know how she is going to leave him to continue with her life.

A Touch of Midnight (Midnight Breed #0.5 - Gideon and Savannah) by Lara Adrian

Sweet story.
I really liked this one. even though it was short (a novella..) it wasn't lacking in action but also we had time to see the development of Savannah and Gideon relationship.

When I think of how Gideon is behaving in the 3 books I've read, I think there is apparent calm about him. I can guess it's because of the resolve in this story and of course finding Savannah. He doesn't "itch" to battle. he is fine in his lab of the Order.

Midnight Awakening (Midnight Breed #3 - Tegan and Elise) by Lara Adrian

oh Tegan, Tegan...
I'm thinking of ending my review with these 3 opening words :D

I knew he would be my favorite. Exactly the dark warrior I'm drawn to! closed his emotions years ago after he lost his Breedmate and now feels nothing and it shows (he shows nothing I mean ;))!
I love those closed up, brooding, cold aggressive types! there is always something beneath that's worth scraping more then just the surface..

Kiss of Crimson (Midnight Breed #2 - Dante and Tess) by Lara Adrian

For me, this book was better then the first one. I admit it's probably because the first book contains a lot of new knowledge about Adrian's world of vampire society, new characters you try to remember "who-is-who" and "what's their deal" so it way less flowing than this one (and naturally you get "stuck" in comparisons to the Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward..). I think its good that basically you don't have a lot of warriors in the first book and also in this one, lets you try and get them better before Adrian adds more warriors to the mix.

Kiss of Midnight (Midnight Breed #1 - Lucan and Gabrielle) by Lara Adrian

I'll start with the obvious. this book is VERY similar to the Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward. naturally I don't know how the next ones will be but this book even portraits the same idea as "Dark Lover" the first book of the BDB, here we have Lucan who is a leader of a group of vampires who fight to protect the Breed (of vampires) and in the BDB we are hearing the story of Wrath - a leader of the vampires (the black dagger brotherhood) who fight against their evil opponents (the Lessers). Wrath and Lucan are both warriors, they are both consumed with fighting the enemy and both don't consider themselves "worthy" or "appropriate material" for a serious relationship with a woman. they are also not really "king" material because all they want to do is fight. But both have the authority to being the leaders. Gabrielle (Lucan's HEA) is similar to Beth (Wrath's HEA) in the sense that they are both outsiders. they don't know about the world of vampire around them and they both have to manage with the little Wrath/Lucan tells them (and the "small lies") and when the truth is revealed they understand that "myth has it all wrong".
